Issue #2356 has been updated by Luke Kanies.
It's calling the eternal node tool when syncing plugins because it's trying to retrieve the node's environment. That was the only way to do so in 0.24.x. In 0.25, we've switched to including the environment in every call, so this won't be a problem.
