In asking more about this in-house, SuperMicro they assign a serialnumber that is 1234567890, however they do have a unique item on the processor that doesn't show up on facter. UUID This value is populated with dmidecode, and it would be nice if this could be populated with facter. ---------------------------------------- Bug #2553: SuperMicro serialnumber fact http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/2553 Author: Jason Helfman Status: Unreviewed Priority: Normal Assigned to: Category: Target version: Complexity: Unknown Keywords: The serialnumber from SuperMicro processors all come back as the same number across all machines. facterversion => 1.5.6 rubyversion => 1.8.7 manufacturer => Supermicro serialnumber => 1234567890 productname => X6DVL-EG2 I find the same serialnumber issue in dmidecode. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
