Issue #2751 has been updated by Todd Zullinger. Status changed from Closed to Re-opened Priority changed from Normal to High Target version changed from 0.25.1 to 0.25.2 Affected version changed from 0.25.1rc2 to 0.25.1
As noted on "puppet-dev":http://groups.google.com/group/puppet-dev/browse_thread/thread/5eea1715def5d9a1, there is a rather serious bug introduced by this patch. I have updated the tickets/0.25.x/2751 at git://jet.mox.net/~tmz/puppet.git with the brown paper bag fix that Luke gave a +1 to on the list. ---------------------------------------- Bug #2751: Red Hat initscripts kill an independently started puppetd/puppetmasterd http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/2751 Author: Todd Zullinger Status: Re-opened Priority: High Assigned to: Todd Zullinger Category: Red Hat Target version: 0.25.2 Affected version: 0.25.1 Keywords: redhat initscript Branch: tickets/0.25.x/2751 at git://jet.mox.net/~tmz/puppet.git If a puppetd run was started manually and 'service puppet stop' was run the killproc function used would kill the manually started puppetd. On Fedora and newer RHEL (>= 5) we can use the -p option to prevent this. I'll add a patch link in a moment. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
