Issue #2751 has been updated by Todd Zullinger.

Status changed from Re-opened to Ready for Checkin

----------------------------------------
Bug #2751: Red Hat initscripts kill an independently started
puppetd/puppetmasterd
http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/2751

Author: Todd Zullinger
Status: Ready for Checkin
Priority: High
Assigned to: Todd Zullinger
Category: Red Hat
Target version: 0.25.2
Affected version: 0.25.1
Keywords: redhat initscript
Branch: tickets/0.25.x/2751 at git://jet.mox.net/~tmz/puppet.git

If a puppetd run was started manually and 'service puppet stop' was run the
killproc function used would kill the manually started puppetd. On Fedora and
newer RHEL (>= 5) we can use the -p option to prevent this. I'll add a patch
link in a moment.
