Bug #5223: err: Could not request certificate: sslv3 alert handshake failure
with mongrel webserver
https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/5223

Author: Tim Edwards
Status: Closed
Priority: Normal

Affected Puppet version:
Keywords:
Branch:

I've setup puppet to use mongrel behind an Apache load balancer according to
the documentation on your wiki:
http://projects.puppetlabs.com/projects/1/wiki/Using_Mongrel
http://projects.puppetlabs.com/projects/puppet/wiki/Using_Mongrel_On_Enterprise_Linux

It works for existing clients, however trying to add a new client I get:
    puppetd --test -v --waitforcert 60
warning: peer certificate won't be verified in this SSL session
err: Could not request certificate: sslv3 alert handshake failure
