Unlike puppet manifests, changes to Ruby DSL require complete restart of puppet
master to take effect. If you edit init.rb file after puppet master process the
.rb file the agent will receive a class can not be found error:
# vim /etc/puppet/modules/ntp/manifests/init.rb
# puppet agent -t
err: Could not retrieve catalog from remote server: Error 400 on SERVER:
Could not find class ntp at /etc/puppet/manifests/site.pp:2 on node
puppet.training
A restart resolves the problem:
# service puppetmaster restart
Stopping puppetmaster: [ OK ]
Starting puppetmaster: [ OK ]
# puppet agent -t
...
notice: puppet.training
notice: /Stage[main]/Ntp/Notify[hello]/message: defined 'message' as
'puppet.training'
notice: Finished catalog run in 0.76 seconds
