Excellent. This really should be trivial to write. Working out how you want it 
to behave in the case of a missing server/404/4xx/3xx error is more complicated 
though.

I'm going to close this ticket as rejected for now, but feel free to open 
another one around the function if you don't think you're likely to write it.

It should be pretty simple though, and I would most certainly want to 
incorporate it into the Puppet distribution if it works :)

We would like to be able to use an HTTP source for the file type. Looking at 
the code, it probably would not be too difficult so perhaps someone has 
considered this before.
