Issue #7986 has been updated by Stefan Schulte.
Hi Paul, using `pkg list -Hv` sound reasonable. Since I currently don't have access to an Solaris box, can you please provide me with a sample output of `pkg list -Hv` (without any package name) With sample output I mean sample lines like * possible header/footer line * installed package from preferred publisher, latest version installed * installed package from preferred publisher, but newer version available * installed package not from preferred publisher, latest version installed * installed package not from preferred publisher, but newer version available * different version scheme (like 1.0, 1.0rc2, 1.0beta22 or whatever Solaris uses here) ---------------------------------------- Bug #7986: Solaris 11/OpenSolaris pkg provider needs to accept exit code 4 https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/7986 Author: Paul Armstrong Status: Accepted Priority: Normal Assignee: Category: package Target version: Affected Puppet version: 2.6.8 Keywords: solaris opensolaris pkg Branch: When a package doesn't require updates, pkg returns with an exit code of 4 instead of 0. <pre> $ pkg install bash No updates necessary for this image. $ echo $? 4 </pre> The pkg provider needs to check for exit code 4 and treat that as success for checks. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
