Issue #12933 has been reported by Chris Price.

----------------------------------------
Bug #12933: Better error message when puppet agent is administratively disabled.
https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/12933

Author: Chris Price
Status: Accepted
Priority: Normal
Assignee: Chris Price
Category:
Target version: 2.7.12
Affected Puppet version:
Keywords:
Branch:

This ticket was created from #4836--breaking into two separate tickets because
the requested functionality will be targeted at two separate versions of puppet.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Occasionally I disable regular puppetd runs on a system by doing:

puppetd --disable

This works fine, except that it could be improved in two ways:

If it has been manually disabled, then when a run is attempted, it should print
something more useful than this:

notice: Run of Puppet configuration client already in progress;
skipping

because well… that message isn’t really true, its not in progress, rather it is
currently disabled.
