Issue #11989 has been updated by Andy Taylor.
While it hasn't fully replaced the old style init scripts, it is very useful for new services as writing Upstart jobs is quick. Additionally Upstart can monitor services, which is useful to ensure Apache is always running, for example. This monitoring of services is a key benefit, so it would be very helpful if this worked. ---------------------------------------- Bug #11989: upstart service operating system confine should include redhat and centos https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/11989#change-56428 Author: Nathan Huff Status: Accepted Priority: Normal Assignee: Category: service Target version: Affected Puppet version: 2.7.9 Keywords: upstart simplefix Branch: RedHat EL 6 and Centos 6 both use upstart for init. The upstart service type should be able to be used on those systems as well. I have done some very minor testing to make sure it at least works to ensure services are running and stopped. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
