Issue #13172 has been updated by Dominic Cleal.
What would happen to the zfs and zpool types? It seems a bit odd to remove the only provider. I'd also suggest they're not Solaris specific, as ZFS runs happily under FreeBSD and OpenSolaris derivatives, using the same tools. There's also a user_role_add provider for user, but I guess that would have to stay in core as Puppet uses the user type itself for initialisation/configuration? Functionality from #5887 for projects would be very useful to include in the proposed Solaris module. I'll ping Mark Phillips (OpenCSW CSWpuppet maintainer), but I'd also be concerned about the "out-of-box" experience for Solaris users if this change went through - particularly without package or service providers in core. Perhaps a way to include the forge module in CSWpuppet or another package would lessen the impact? ---------------------------------------- Refactor #13172: Extract Solaris Zone and related providers into modules on the forge https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/13172#change-58724 Author: Daniel Pittman Status: Accepted Priority: Normal Assignee: Jeff Weiss Category: modules Target version: Telly Affected Puppet version: Keywords: solaris module Branch: We have a pile of Solaris types in core. They should be extracted and pushed to the forge as independent projects where we can innovate faster and fix bugs in a more responsive fashion, during Telly. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
