you are a star! I did not realise that I needed to revert c7ccc4ba7c42d56595564491ae578a1604c628d1 AS WELL AS apply your patch. It is unbelievable the storeconfigs time just went down by a factor of 3 and the compile time by a factor of 2. This is great news indeed. I will keep you posted if anything else comes up. James has also enabled my Redmine account, so I'll be able to post things directly to bugs. The compile times are still on the order of 10 seconds, so caching would actually be the killer here, as that would take a lot of load off the server. However from Luke's "poll" last April I think it was decided that caching was to go for good? Many thanks for the prompt response!
