I looked in BIOS, but it is not a laptop and there's nothing about it.
I tried the xorg.conf options and got what I want... thanks a lot !
Well, it's really nice : actually this is for an interactive installation in
which a picture appears only when the room is silent. And I present it after
tomorrow at my diploma examination...
I let you imagine :
- "Now if we keep silent, let's see what happens..."
- ...
(nothing at all)
- "Oops... I think this is the screensaver, I have to find the keyboard and..."
...hum, it's better than the old microsoft's "starwars-style" screensaver but...
so thanks a lot !

In your /etc/X11/xorg.conf,
this block of lines:
92 # The following lines control the screen blanking and
93 # monitors on/off timing (values are minutes)
94 Option "DPMS"
95 Option "BlankTime" "4"
96 Option "StandbyTime" "0"
97 Option "SuspendTime" "0"
98 Option "OffTime" "5"
Try to put everything at 0
