Yes.

There are open jdk web browser plugins available in Debian, I don't know
if they are included in the openjre or not, but they are certainly
available.

It will need testing, I've only tried it briefly and I may be mistaken
about how well it works.

But it would be great if OpenJDK is usable for this.
