What happens if you remove/not_install puredyne-settings?

just tried
$ sudo aptitude install puredyne
it says it is half installed and that it will reconfigure it. then as expected it tries to download ans configure

 puredyne-settings (.../puredyne-settings_20081120_i386.deb)

and again it comes with the `/etc/gdm/gdm.conf' rewriting error as

/var/cache/apt/archives/puredyne-settings_20081120_i386.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

so it looks like it does not configure puredyne properly because it wants to configure first puredyne-settings which cannot be done.
