indeed these specifications match a setup that can be very easily
found for free (2nd hand or recycled) in EU and USA, but some other
places are unfortunately not so well equipped.

regarding hardware availability what is most interesting is the
massive presence of gaming consoles: i really hope someone is able to
gather resources and develop on that front. it was a core task for d:b
development until we could keep it on, but our expert Smilzo sadly
left when he needed to earn more from his job as his health problems
needed serious treatments.

so back to our discussion: on one side it is important to keep our OS
free from proprietary drivers, on the other side it is also important
to run a free OS on proprietary hardware (liberate common hardware).

i guess now for pure:dyne is quite important to leave out proprietary
components (as for instance ati/nvidia video drivers), stating it as a
political standpoint for "art made with free software", especially
considering all the attention goto10 gained with the "FLOSS+Art" book,
it is crucial now to lead the discussion in a genuine way, following
FSF recommendations.

ciao
