Me again :)

I'm under Debian Squeeze, so things may be little bit different here.

Shortest story:
There is a Debian tool to auto(re)generate xorg.conf, dexconf. You just have to run it with root privileges, read what it will display and agree to do it's job. It should not fail, but you may want to backup your xorg.conf file (below).

Not so short story:
try the file
/etc/X11/xorg.conf

If you're able but unfamiliar to work with console try
aptitude install mc
to have this handy tool
or use nano to work with text files (it has important bindings listed in bottom part of screen).

I have Polish keyboard layout and I work under Debian Squeeze, don't know if it will be valid with pure:dyne (anybody out there?). So the xorg.conf file goes like this:

Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier "Generic Keyboard"
    Driver "kbd"
    Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
    Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
    Option "XkbLayout" "pl"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier "Configured Mouse"
    Driver "mouse"
EndSection

Section "Device"
    Identifier "Configured Video Device"
EndSection

Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "Configured Monitor"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
    Identifier "Default Screen"
    Monitor "Configured Monitor"
EndSection

That's about it. You can have it much longer if you're not having X server driven this way.

Long story of xorg.conf (you don't want to read it, I think) is here:
http://linux.die.net/man/5/xorg.conf

Cheers (and have fun)

Yes, I think so

    Is X server configured properly?

I don't know tbh.

Where can I access the neccessary file to check my keyboard and mouse settings?
