Well, logging back out and in didn't do anything. I wrote a bit about this in my first message, as I have been working on this issue for hours upon hours (including the other machine). I may still just be overlooking something simple and easy, but I can't figure it out.
On a side note, Jack is no longer connecting to the Alsa sequencer, which might create midi issues. I'm not sure when or how that happened. -grant
