hmm, no. all of this is done through /etc/security/limits.conf nothing
else. I'm sorry it doesn't work for you, but this is really all one
needs to do. In case of doubt, I recommend restarting the computer
(yes, I know it sounds foolish.. :)) just so pam definitely takes the
changes into account. Also, make sure that you are part of the audio
group!
Sorry if I'm repeating myself, but I'm confident that with these few
steps it *has* to work!
