thanks! didn't realize it wasn't going to the list. glad wicd helped, all I know about it is that it is a python program. No idea what it is doing differently under the hood.
my last post which was supposed to go to the list is below. this might be a good thing to document somewhere. Is the pure:dyne wiki still the place for that?
