Moving to another thread, since this is becoming specifically about
ndiswrapper rather than general wifi support.

To install an xp driver, I need to use a command like this:

sudo ndiswrapper -i path/to/driver.inf

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/Ndiswrapper

But the command is not found in the puredyne live boot environment.

I thought this might be because I messed up and did sudo make uninstall, so
just now I booted from the original live DVD that I downloaded and same
thing -- the command is not found in any of the $PATH directories. So it
seems the executable isn't there in the baseline puredyne distro after all?

sudo find / -name ndiswrapper

/lib/modules/2.6.31-9-rt/kernel/ubuntu/ndiswrapper
/usr/src/linux-rt-headers-2.6.31-9-rt/ubuntu/ndiswrapper

The /lib/.../ndiswrapper directory contains ndiswrapper.ko, nothing else.

Do I need to compile it after all?
