puredyne uses zsh so adjust .zshrc

well - i had that problem too - cant remember the problem - upstream getting 
saturated? - darkice really started to annoy me i have to say but i know other 
use it without problems - i opted for liquidsoap, another jack enabled stream 
client with lots of power - the devs keep changing stuff though so dont get too 
attached to any features :)
