Never worry - got liquidsoap up and running after compiling from source.
It works well, don't want to speak too soon but it might just be much
better than darkice...

well - i had that problem too - cant remember the problem - upstream
getting saturated? - darkice really started to annoy me i have to say
but i know other use it without problems - i opted for liquidsoap,
another jack enabled stream client with lots of power - the devs keep
changing stuff though so dont get too attached to any features :)
thanks for the tip. have you used it before for live streams (via
jack)? at the minute i can get it going with:
#!/usr/bin/liquidsoap
myplaylist = playlist("/home/peter/liquidsoap/playlist.pls")
radio = mksafe(myplaylist)
output.icecast.vorbis(
host = "localhost", port = 8000, password = "hackme", mount =
"basic-radio.ogg", radio)
but i can't find much info on adjusting this to deal with live streams.
thanks,
peter
