And/Or we need a more recent ALSA....

It would be good to try if a generic kernel + the ALSA backport modules
package would make any difference.

@Karsten: did you check if we could get the ALSA backports working for
the RT kernel we use? This would be really good to be able to keep this
as fresh as possible.

@gusano: stupid test/question do you also have xruns when you run jackd
from a console *without* X running? Regarding previous Puredyne
releases, every download mirrors has them, just go to the parent
directories and browse.
