here is the only config where I got it working so far:

-libffado 2.0.0.1
-jackd 0.118+svn3796
-jackd-firewire 0.118+svn3796
-kernel 2.6.32-22.33

considering what they say on ffado.org, the new firewire stack would work only with kernel >=2.6.32 though..
