Hello again, I think the usbkey is dead unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be detected by the laptop at all so I can't fsck it. Dmesg doesn't seem to report anything relating to it either.
I'll send Karsten an email if you think it is definitely an issue with the usb key itself. Thanks for the help anyways!
