zfsonlinux is not fuse based! The licensing problem only restricts distributing the zfs code with the GPL linux kernel. If the user is installing the zfs code himself there's no conflict. You ca install zfs on Proxmox by simply adding the Ubuntu PPA and doing apt-get install ubuntu-zfs.
