That's exactly where it sits at the moment: the only interface to
IB supported is Mellanox VAPI. Moving to OpenIB is the goal, but
it's a matter of time and development work. It would also be nice
if the CMA stabilized in OpenIB at some point too, otherwise we're
stuck with using the existing PVFS2/IB TCP-based connection setup
code.
If you know someone with the time to get started on this, I'll
certainly help where I can.
