Hi Paulo,
The release includes a migration utility. See http://www.pvfs.org/cvs/pvfs-2-7-branch.build/doc/pvfs2-faq/pvfs2-faq.php#SECTION000617000000000000000 for further info.
Also, that utility doesn't delete the collections in the old format (it saves them in a backup location), unless --cleanup is specified. I would recommend running the utility *without* --cleanup first, restarting the servers and mounting the PVFS volume to verify that the migration was successful. The old collections can always be removed later by running the migration utility again with the --cleanup option.

Hello. After almost 2 years of good use, I need to upgrade PVFS2 1.4.0 on AMD x86_64 to 2.7.0. (Well, it was not easy to get 1.4.0 running either on x86_64 or on ppc64, so I kept them as long as I could :-) I have built the daemon and the kernel module, they seem ok.Now I found, on the 2.6.0 release notice (while searching for "upgrading")this: " * As with 1.5.0 and 1.5.1, the storage format is different from the 1.4.0 version and earlier. If you are upgrading to 2.6.0 directly from 1.4.0, you must migrate to the new format. "Unfortunatelly, I could not find anything else on that subject. Is there atool and/or procedure to perform the conversion?
