Just to clarify, if you launch 2.8.1 servers on a storage space that
used 2.7.1, it will automatically update the metadata. You don't have
to do anything special to migrate.
2.7.1 and 2.8.1 are not network protocol compatible, however. When you
upgrade your servers you have to also upgrade all of your clients at the
same time.
