Hi Angel,

The issues you describe below look very similar to the issues we saw
when using the stock db4 package. So, I think it should help. At our
site, we installed the latest version of BDB in a non-standard location
(i.e. /usr/local/db4.8) and did not replace the version currently
installed due to the potential for broken dependencies. We then
re-compiled OrangeFS against the new BDB version using
--with-db=/usr/local/db4.8 for configure. Note that you only need the
updated version of BDB on hosts running the server processes. The
client-side does not link against BDB.

Hope that helps,
Michael

I just installed the 4.8 version of BDB and the latest version of OrangeFS, and everything looks much better now. I haven't submitted the same "heavy" job that was causing all those problems before, but I will do tomorrow, and will report back if we get any issues. In any case, so far it looks really nice, I've been writing many GBs of data to the PVFS system, and not a single line of warning/errors in the logs so far. Good job!

Cheers,
Ángel de Vicente
