Hi,

Related, you might want to read the following paper:
  S. Alam, H. El-Harake, K. Howard, N. Stringfellow, and F. Verzelloni.
Parallel I/O and the Metadata Wall.
In the 6th Parallel Data Storage Workshop. Seattle, WA. November 2011.
  http://www.pdsi-scidac.org/events/PDSW11/resources/papers/pdsw07-alam.pdf

The paper is about adding SSD into Lustre and GPFS configurations, but I think
the take-away (that PFSes don't benefit from the addition of SSD to the degree
that they might) is relevant to PVFS also.

Regards,

Rob
