Hi all:

I'm running Rocks 6.0, which is based on CentOS 6. There's an issue with
the kernel supplied in CentOS that hinders performance in many areas
(including network throughput). One of the suggestions is upgrading to a
3.0.60 kernel.

Will OrangeFS 2.8.7 build well against the 3.x kernel series? Any known
issues I should be aware of?

Also, my OrangeFS servers are currently running 2.8.5, and I plan to
upgrade them to 2.8.7 as well. Are there any issues or conversions
required? I would rather not plan on a quick change over and restart pvfs2
only to find its going to be converting/processing for a few hours before
coming online. If its going to take some time, I need to schedule a chunk
of downtime...

Thanks!
