It has been a while (i.e. years), but I have successfully compiled parts
of OrangeFS under Alpine Linux. The usrint has no hope of compiling; it
relies on glibc. The server and sysint should compile. It has
successfully compiled on Mac OS recently and various UNIX platforms in
the past.

In the last year or two though, practically all development has been
done on Linux boxes running glibc. It's very possible something is
broken.
