Tables are a pain for longer content. It's the usual "using a content
tag for visual styling" mistake.
As for spurious notifications, control of this is in some ways similar
to determining if potential version-conflict save is done by same user.
The two can be coupled, along with determining when a relevant
backup (RCS/CVS) should be done.
