Yes, I've tried downloading it from both Seaweed and Minnow. Today, I
finally got someone else to download the file and e-mail it to me. The
problem must lie either with my computer or my ISP. I'll experiment some
more and see what I can learn. >>

<< That happened to me a number of times. It seems to be a server problem

Sounds like the problem has returned. >>
All--
Previously (before I succeeded), I attempted download over different ISPs and
differing Internet software. The number of bytes downloaded before it quit
varied (sometimes as low as 130K sometimes as high as a few K short of a
complete download). I attempted download approximately 8-12 times (though my
imagination and frustration may have exaggerated the number a little bit). I
was ready to attempt Aaron Wieland's solution, but after 3-4 days, I finally
succeeded (and thus did not attempt to have a friend download and E-mail me).
I was doing download over a modem connection, so the time to download was
quite a few minutes (~ 35-55 minutes). In the far distant past, I have
experienced this same problem with the uiuc ftp servers. I can only speculate
that it is a server problem (or an ISP problem, conceivably), with associated
conditions that the download take a long time (and thus "encourage" the
server (or the ISP) to time out in an odd way (thinking that the file
transfer has been completed)).
Hope this helps somebody in GaTechieLand. I will be glad to assist by running
some tests if that can help in any way.
Cheers,
Jerry.
