I don't know. If you upload a PowerPoint file and you click on it, does
it open up in the browser? I believe there was a way in PowerPoint to
turn the presentation into a series of GIFs. These could then be
uploaded.

Not yet. I'll ask on the squeak list about MIME type. As far as closer
integration of Swiki with projects, we'll be working on it shortly
(hopefully).
