I don't remember why I did it like this in PWS. I think (not
positive) was that I defined edit as a method of pages, so I create
the page before invoking the edit, and pages were tightly linked to
whole Swikis -- a design error I describe in my book. I'll let Je77
explain why he did in ComSwiki when he returns.

Which has caused us no end of headaches around here! Google's robots
ask for 40+ pages simultaneously, which crashed our Mac servers
pretty quickly. GaTech's own robot for its own search engine is,
well, not too bright. We've tried to get them to read robots.txt
files (and for us to write them to help them) and to not trace Swikis
inappropriately, but without luck. If you go to
http://www.gatech.edu and search for any student who has a page in a
Swiki, you'll find both their page, and EVERY REVISION IN THE HISTORY
OF THAT PAGE! <sigh>
