...help me help a friend?

The requirement is to produce a system (and obviously I'm suggesting
Squeak) that can allow a course teacher to set multiple choice tests and
have the students do practise runs, real runs with logging of the
scores, have a swiki-like bulletin board to ask questions and help each
other and probably a few other simple things.

It seem to me that many parts of this must have already been done by
someone out there and as a true object engineer I hate to write
something I can steal, er, reuse. It's a looong time since I did any
swiki/pws development (my last contribution was allowing items within
lists to be edited, probably three years ago) and so I'm pretty out of
date.

I think I'll need:-
password access control
generating html to disply a paragraph or two per question with
three-five multiple-choice type buttons
recording the answers given (for records and to offer suggestions for
doing better next time)
logging based on user name - scores, times etc.
teacher priviledge to edit questions/choose combinations for each test
a fairly ordinary swiki for the query/discussion (friend would like a
two-frame layout, one with list of questions, other to show thread of
answers to chosen Q)

Have any of you done any of these kind of things?
