Usually this happens because Eclipse keeps a cache of the updates... have you tried restarting Eclipse?

I just updated to 1.0.8 the same way recently (this morning), without any problems.
I can use the zip file to manually update, but I thought it might be helpful to share this information in case it's not just me having the problem.
