OMG, YSM?
Thanks for verifying my worst fears, at least I don't think I'm crazy!!
Literally back in 1987 or 1988 (I don't know, maybe 1990?)or so the DOS editor
that I used to edit PAL (Paradox's scripting language) which eventually turned
into MultiEdit handled this complicated little bit of acumen with aplomb. Now
20 years later with the latest GUI Editor we'er still discovering how to handle
TabStops while replacing with SPACE characters? That's scary!!
I'm Flabbergasted!!!!!!
Let's see, which would I rather look at?
For Example a Module comment:
""" This is my Module comment
____Here is my second line.
________Here is my description of___Parameter___Col1____Col2
____________________________________Col0________Col1____Col2
____________________________________Another_____Col1____Col2
Gee, that's kind of organized and easy to read ...
Or maybe? ...
""" This is my Module comment
____Here is my second line (just lucky the first indent was 4)
________Here is my description of___Parameter____Col1____Col2
____Col0________Col1____Col2h
____Another____Col1____Col2
.......
It's funny that I thought one of the strengths of Python over C was that
Execution
WAS based on Indention instead of {} and () with the problems a missing "{"
can cause ... and now find out that the premier editor doesn't pay attention
to indentation, just stupidly counts spaces ...
WOW!
Well, thanks for the quick response, I appreciate it.
I guess that at least worst case with open source I can "fix" it or move on...
Too bad there isn't a check box to let you decide which way you want it.
Thanks again, Cla.
