Fabioz,

You are correct.  I previously had SDK version of eclipse 3.4.1 installed, and
that will fails to install pydev.

I have reinstalled the basic version of eclipse
(eclipse-java-ganymede-SR1-macosx-carbon.tar.gz), and that install pydev fine.

Not sure why the SDK version would have the problem.  But it's working now.
