I have been trying to find an answer in the forums and google and couldn't find an answer to the following problem: the PyDev code completion feature in Jython is very slow under Ubuntu ( I've tried with Linux Mint and Ubuntu in the 64-bit and 32-bit flavors). For instance, I type "self." and PyDev takes about 20-30 seconds to respond.
I though it could be a EasyEclipse problem and then tried installing Ganimede adding PyDev as a plugin. The problem persists. What I found running a new installation of Eclipse, Java, Jython in a Ubuntu virtual machine is these error messages: Err output: Traceback (innermost last): File "/opt/easyeclipse-python-1.3.1/plugins/org.python.pydev_1.3.13/PySrc/pycompletionserver.py", line 28, in ? ImportError: no module named threading Note. I am attaching a copy of one of the logs obtained from Ubuntu Intrepid Ibix 32-bit, EasyEclipse 1.3.1, Java JDK 32-bit, Jython 1.2.1 Has anybody had this problem before in Linux and found the solution? I will appreciate your help.
