Can you check with Python 3.1.3? I was reading through the release docs and I think it *could* be something that was fixed from 3.1.2 ta 3.1.3 (although I may be wrong). Meanwhile, I'll install Ubuntu here and check if I can reproduce it (in windows with python 3.1.2 it worked for me).
