I tried a script that says this: -------- import pygame import pygame.mixer print pygame.mixer.music -------- with a py2exe building script of this: -------- from distutils.core import setup import py2exe import sys sys.argv.append("py2exe") setup(windows=['test_file.py'], options = {'py2exe': {'optimize': 2, 'bundle_files':1} }, zipfile=None) -------- and the resulting exe ran fine, without any error on the pygame.mixer.music access I think the problem is definitely something specific to your config. You should definitely try: import pygame.mixer_music in the script that is currently having a problem
