Well, you could use pyglet and just point out to people that you are using it 
(and also that you're not a core dev) and that they are free to disqualify 
you if they wish to.

I'm actually betting that not many people would actually punish someone for 
using pyglet.

If you were to use it you'd not be able to rely on any fast turn-around on 
bugs you might discover during the week.
