The pyglet website is hosted in Australia, I believe. Dunno if that has anything to do with the slowness, but if it does - it's probably fine for asia-pacific people, and the website has to be somewhere.
For what it's worth, I have experienced significant delays and/or unavailability from pyglet.org fairly regularly.
