Actually, it is pretty simple: pyglet is open source!

Currently there are not enough people interested in contributing to the
project to move it forward (1.2 it's not that far away but it requires
some man power we don't have, but I digress).

There are tools to convert an hg repo into a git repo (if you want to
keep the history). Just fork it, move to github and get things going.

I'm sure that if it works, all pyglet.org will follow :)
