at the risk of pushing my luck I''ll say that I think open source type
collaborations work very differently than software companies. In one
case you get paid, that's the motivating factor. In OS one primarily
works on a project because they enjoy doing so. If the fun is gone
from a task, it won't get done.

won't. It sounds like a job and it implies a type of responsibility
that I do not want.
