Well, it seems to be PostgreSQL based but I am not sure what is in front of PostgreSQL that might affect the connection. Do you know if psql works? If so then PyGreSQL should work too. If you have a Netezza box online with a test connection that can be reached across the Internet I would be happy to try it.
